We started out on our Catskills hike this past Saturday with the goal of reaching the summit of Balsam Lake Mountain. This would give us peak #7 in our goal to become members of the Catskills 3500 Club. We decided on a "moderate" hike for this day as there were no rock scrambles, and the trail itself was pretty straight forward, with only brief moments of steep walking as we neared the summit. It went so well, once we hit the summit, we discussed the fact that there was another peak not to far, that with a good pace, we could summit, knocking off two peaks in one day.
And so we did. Balsam Lake and Graham Mountains - check!
